Tales of true stories is back: Now Honesty for real was an aging Jersey cow. She was our main milk cow growing up. We were fortunate enough to have her rich cream available for coffee and whipped cream on our pancakes with syrup for dinners some days. Honesty had a strong maternal urge for others. She adopted a goat kid who recently lost his own mother. He took to a bottle until Honesty took over the care. Her own calf Honey Due was finally weaned. Honesty still had plenty of milk so she took to this goat kid, known to us as Lollipop. Lollipop came by his name honestly. There is no pun intended. This is a tale of true stories. If you ever saw the picture of the cow on the baking soda box you will see a resemblance of Honey Due.
